Freelander 1 strange beep

hi all on my td4 2006.after getting problem with my engine warning light coming on intermitantly, the one with the exclamtion mark in the middle,i am now hearing a strange dull beep now and again also,car stars fine,drives fine,any ideas please

Change the battery in your keyfob

thanks mate didnt think of that mate,plus any thoughts on my warning light do you think the 2 probs connected or just co/incidental
