sticking rear door

hi guys my near side rear door is sticking when trying to open from the outside seems to open fine from the inside.with the door open i pushed the lock up as if the door was closed then tried pulling the outside handle and noticed the lock was not falling back down i had to use a srewdriver to pull it back . is there a repair or is it a new door lock any help would be most greatfull cheers .
