Hey guys,

I just bought my first Land Rover and I love it. She's an '04 TD4 Freelander. Have spent the last 72 hours tinkering and I eventually got round to trying to replace the aftermarket stereo that was there already. I bought a Pioneer DEH 1400UB to replace an older Pioneer model thinking that the connections would be the same meaning not having to worry about adaptors.

Hence my frustration when I took out the old stereo and compared. The first pic here is of the 3 connections that were plugged into the back of the old stereo.

And the second is of the back of the new stereo.

Now when I plug the 2 rectangular plugs (with all the different coloured small wires) into the new stereo it powers on and I can use the CD player and aux connection no problem, but the radio can't pick up any signal. The problem is there's no antenna cable to be found anywhere as far as I can see.

The old stereo had no problem getting a good signal so obviously the antenna cable is included in one of the three leads from the first pic. Any ideas which one or how I might go about fitting a square plug into the circular antenna hole on the new stereo?

Thanks in advance

Yeah that'll be it. Have connected the 2 on my thumb into the new stereo but the antenna problem still remains. Can't find it at all.

Thanks teddywood. Will have another look down. Fairly certain it's been modified in some way as the old stereo works perfectly through those 3 connections, none of which seem to me to be regular antenna leads.
