Am I right that the general feeling that the re-con boxes are a bit of a waste of time and new is the best trouble free way to go? They seem to be very expensive! There seem to be a lot of places offering the re-cons.

I've got an ad west recon box and had no issues so far, still got another 7 months warranty left on it too. I think the concensus I got was the repair kits can be hit and miss, as can quite often be more than seal which is gone....but not sure. I'm sure someone will confirm/correct me.

repair kits arent hit or miss ,condition of shaft were seal runs is ,its not too bad but you need instruction to rebuild and reset ,i build quite a few if you want any help

I recently tried replacing the seal on a friends 90, and it was a major failure so I got a recon box from cws and it's been great
