Hi all

Had the dreaded air sus inactive, abs and dsc lights come on....

So Bought an icarsoft i930 great piece of kit...

It's reading the fault as a code 68 - Steering angle sensor ecu internal fault.

I've read some of the posts on these and I've tried the manual reset turning the wheel but it hasn't worked.

The lights came on suddenly when I was reversing on full lock... So I'm wondering if it could be a loose connection or whether the sensor's gone!

Is there any other way of resetting/testing it without using testbook? Desperately need the lights gone as my mot's due next week!!

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Further update - unplugged the sensor plugged it back it and cleared the codes- they've gone (weren't clearing before) but the lights are still on and I've now got code 5 temporary system deactivation...

The live data is recognising the steering wheel now and showing angle readings whereas before it was set at 0 permanently..,

Any ideas on how to get rid of the temporary abs deactivation as that won't clear!

Never heard of it before....

Carsoft is well known in the BMW world, I have used it on my 7'er previously...but icarsoft is new to me...does say it covers the L322 but how many times have we heard that from some diagnostic devices...??

The SaS is linked to the ABS Module, I had issues with mine previously and found the ABS ECU was breaking down when it got warm...might be another place to look.

the SaS has been known to fail so don't rule it out, it is becoming more of a common fail item!

I saw it across other sites and forums and thought if give one a go- it is land rover specific and reads/clears codes/gives live data- doesn't re-programme or anything, purely just diagnosis and clearing. Seems a good bit of kit.

Took the car out for a drive after my last update, came back and the codes have all returned so looks as though the SaS has given up! Bizarre because it obviously is working intermittently so I presume must be a deteriorated connection inside.

Any tips on the best place to get a replacement online - I'll have a go at replacing myself and look for an Indy to reprogramme it.

Failing that, if I take it apart and identify/repair any obvious connection damage, will it still need reprogramming or will the car just recognise it from old?

Cheers

didn't know a new sensor would need programming, other than resetting the parameters by turning the steering wheel full lock to lock

+1 need coding to car, inside there are 4 rotary leaf type connectors on mine one had worn away giving same symptoms, check prices from BMW, X5 uses the same part.
