starting probs

just replaced the glow plugs last week and the alty it was starting fine and this morning it started for a second then cut out there is fuel there and a live at each glow plug but turns over but wont fire any ideas please

did you get the original series wired plugs or the late parrallel plugs

and how have you wired them in
, how many volts at each plug
have you bled the pump
i put heater plugs on for aboiut 15-20secs before turning over,
aplogies if thius sounds a bit basic
are you giving it enough heat and turn over long enough
press pedal all way down while cranking
is the engine stop lever on pump corectly adjusted

all ok but i have found the wire from the ignition switch to the starter has melted and shorted out would this effect the starting checked the glow plugs by pulling each one out they are the parrell ones and are all glowing I have checked the fuel to the injectors and there are no bubbles going to replace the wire to the starter and see what happens thanks for the reply

yes if the wire is melted you will very possibly have a problem starting as you will not have a good feed i have decided not to use any punctuation either and i hope this is ok and answers your question wasn't it a nice day today and i have just eaten some pizza after i had a beer out in the sunshine earlier can you see how annoying this gets and difficult to read because thats what its like when there are no full stops or commas or anything like that but some people like to write like that i dont i think its lazy

was series wired glow plugs on previously?
how is the parallel plugs wired- they dont need an earth wire near no1 as in the series (possible cause of wire melting) as direct short to earth
if you are feeding them from the right hand side of ballast resistor then they will be losing 3-4 volts still work but not as good
as voltage passes through the resistor
series plugs need 1-7volts parallel need 12v

He`s running again rewired the starter and the glow plugs, found a leak from the drain plug on the fuel filter,fixed that with a nut bolt and a washer,bled the system charged the battery and hey presto it fired up, just wanted to say thanks for the replies,love you guys.(storm check out the punctuation lol).
