It's a bit old tech then, here the tester enters the registration number, compares the VIN that comes up with the log book and it then tells him the details step by step:)

No,its the same here,when the tester enters the vehicle details it prints off a test list specific to that vehicle.Its often wrong though.(And with some Land Rovers its often hard to get the computer to accept the correct details) I think they had to do it to keep up with the various new systems like EPB's etc. The wallcharts are still up in most garages and were often supplied by Autodata.There should be no need to use them now though....

I always have to remind the test station how the ABS works on the P38 as the computer does not know:rolleyes:
