i bought some spot lights the other day and although i have a rough idea of how i am going to wire them up, can anyone give me a good step by step plan of how to do it?

also, if my engine is using savage amount of diesel on a normal run, can anyone suggest why? there's no big leaks that i can see or diesel on the floor. i thought maybe the injectors? im running a 2.5td.

go to halfrauds and buy a wiring kit, about a tenner and it has a set of instructions with it

is there any black smoke coming out of yer exhaust ?

no, no black smoke. and it runs fine, no loss of power or anything.

is the wiring kit specially for landrovers or is it a general wiring? relays included?

Do a search fer yer wiring Mad Hat Man has posted stuff about wiring an relays an things. An if yer using that much diesel an don't know what to look for I'd take it to a diesel specialist an get them to set it up for you.

i know, it's only started happening recently. i used to get 30mpg out of it but all of a sudden its shot down ever since i took it for a service. i wonder if they've moved something and its done something?

This is how i wired my hella spotlights up and they work ace.

Hiya Simond

regarding the Diesel usage

just simply book it in a a good commercial Diesel fitters a hr with them will solve your problems.

Yrs Ago i was dinking about with a series II SWB with a perkins and in the end put it in to a local diesel specialist and bingo problem found - OK it involved a recon pump but never had problems again plus it drank less at your rate a few fill-ups more and you will have met the csts of a hr or so with a good specialist.

thanks for that. has anyone fitted genuine landrover spots? this is the first time i've done it- theres a black wire and a blue/yellow wire. i assumed black was live so i connected them in series and then to the relay and the blue/yellow i thought was earth.
connected it all up and they didnt come on. could anyone tell me the breakdown of the wires? i'm going wrong somewhere and i reckon thats the only possible place.
