Usually means its a special edition vehicle to be honest 
Have you got a Autobiography for example??
Other P38's that might have this sticker could be (these are all guesses but they are all special editions) Westminster, Holland & Holland, Linley, 50th Anniversary and Rhino editions...

this isnt a sticker its a pressed plate rivited on the slam panel under the bonnet, just the same as a vin plate.
well it is an autobiography, but i have thought it has a funny past since purchase due to the fact it only has 38k miles on a 1996,
i purchased the vehicle from an auction with no history or paperwork, due to this and the fact that it was unrealistic miles a lot of people were put off, but not me...
when i finally got the vehicle it had some detail of where the vehicle had come from so i called them only to find the vehicle had come from the royal mews, buckingham palace road, so i persued the enquiry and eventually they sent me all the service history and spare keys... i was shocked...
now this isnt to mean that the car has been owned by anyone royal as the mews is the place that all the royal transport is run from but its also where al the palace workers live so who knows hence why i ask what this plate is,
i do belive the plate is original as the date stamp on it is the very same as the year and month the vehicle was built.

Could well be as i stated before. If it was a royal transport it might have bullet proof glass and or doors Hence the special vehicle plate. You never know. Sounds like you got a gooden there.

The plate is because its an Autobiography, it tells Landrover the original spec that was requested apparently. I know because some sneaky fekker tried to sell me a DSE with Autobiography badge on it and cheap crap wood kit of flea bay stuck on, so i phoned Landrover and they said it should have a special vehicle plate right next to the VIN plate.

To be honest its definitely worth trying to see if this could be a fully armed RR its dead easy just go to your local weigh bridge and weigh it, it should weigh in and almost a ton more, because it will have extra plating on the doors and underneath too (you can also get special wheels so its a wheel within a wheel that will let it ride at about 60 mph safely, some cut the outer rim of the tyre off as it deflates, although i doubt that this is on it, that’s the type of thing that’s on the prime ministers car and presidents etc, but if it is fully armoured with windows too, you could expect to get an extra £25k at least for it and if you export it to the middle east a lot more, if it has been done its worth finding out who done it (and get a certificate saying so)

But Dopey is right though, find out whether it is armoured etc. One easy way to maybe tell is to look at the glass in the windows, does it appear unusually thick?? Ive seen 2 armored cars from Mercedes and the glass in those was the first thing I noticed, it is way thicker than standard stuff.

Bullet proof glass on vehicles have noticible black borders around them not normally found on side windows. All side windows for example look like rear windows in all glass hatchbacks, where the black border is used to hide the fact that the window's stuck in with resin.

i have just been on hereford 4x4 site.dont no if it is rite or not or if it has anything to do with this,but they have a rr 'special vehicle' for sale.they say one of only a few 'special vehicles' made,and that they were for the SAS lad's .dont no if thats so or not????
