Sparks from exhaust

My 300tdi has been idle for almost 4 months. I have just given it a 5 mile run and was really surprised to see sparks flying out of the exhaust! When I rev it, it resembles an angle grinder! What on earth could it be?

The hamster and it’s wheel got a bit rusty laid up that long, keep it running and it’ll soon wear the rust away and stop sparking....

Is it carbon burning off from the exhaust manifold?
You did check the oil level?

Don't let it drag on the ground

Mouse/Hamster/Pigeon nest getting blown off ...

You can tell little Jimmy next door that you've found his lost guinea pig?

Kidding... just kidding...

I had similar with my discovery after I'd bunged a load of cooking oil in the tank

I never had that when I was running veg, and I ran some fairly filthy used stuff

It only happened the first few miles after the engine had warmed up. Now it just smells of chips
