Just found this pic on ere this dude has done summat very clever with his spare wheel and has inspired me greatly to get out my cutting discs and lay into my wheel box. However before I perform surgery on my poor 110 i wanted to ask has anyone else done this before and would you have any suggestions on a) securing wheel to the side and b) how to cover up the hole from underneath.

well i been doing a fair bit of googling to find out if theres any problem with fitting this series spare wheel dish to my 110 but canne find noffink and can also not think of any reason why it would not work. will take some pics if i fit the thing.

So I won the bidding on the dish but not the clamp bracket but I think I can improvise summat instead of that. will fit later this week and post pics.

HI All - I have finally found this thread after starting the design of my own spare wheel cradle. I have a couple of questions:

1. I want to make the wheel sit as low as possible. How low do you think it can go without fouling the rear wheel clearance on the suspension?

2. with more weight sitting on one side has any of you seen any unbalancing when driving?

All the best, thanks!

Yep it's a common problem that's why all car manufacturers recommend that you never drive any Motorvehicle with out a passenger, of equal weight to yourself. sitting in the passenger seat..

Thats NO problem when compared to gettin me bastid dog to sit in the exact centre of the load space :suspicious:

I need someone heavier in my passenger seat to equalize the fact that there is a tank of fuel below me :D

You weigh feck all just stick a bag of sugar in the passenger seat and you'll be fine

**** off! :p

Yes, but you need to get him to **** out of the window at the exact rate of your fuel consumption for optimum balance :p

That would work, would have to take into account the recoil of the **** out the window, would probably cause thrust, thus causing more imbalance problems  :D
