Freelander 1 sorry another which oil and service question

Had a look and I think it is time for a service never done one before so any tips hints would be gratefully appreciated .I was ready to buy this oil

which would you use and why do some use 5w-30 and others 10w-30 which is best for a td4 that has done 68000 miles ?

Is there anything else I need to service it ? the fuel filter is on its way thanks

As far as the oil i would personally use 10w40 semi synthetic for higher mileage vehicles

Service kit looks fine just missing the turbo vent filter

Avoid 5w30 oil, it's too thin for any FL1 engine. 5w40 full synthetic or 10w40 semi synthetic are fine.
You'll need a 36mm single hex socket to remove the oil filter cap.

I'd go for shell over Triple QX every day of the week!

you say semisynthetic is fine if I can get a good price on fully synthetic would that be better ?
