I have looked and looked and typed in various combinations of freelander, clock and radio in the search bar but I cannot find a definitive answer to my question. Apart from one post with all the connector numbers blah blah that i studied but still made no sence to me.

The car has had a new head unit before. Obviously the wide clock connector could not be plugged in. But what does this do???

The connector BEHIND my clock has Constant feed to the purple and ignition live to the green wire which is slightly confusing to me because i thought it got feed from the radio?

Slightly confused. I am pretty sure i need to put a wire from somwhere on the connector that isnt plugged in behind the radio, to the connector behind the clock but i am not sure what to what...

I am sorry if this has been covered before, I know you must see lots of threads like this but i just cant find the right bit of information. I hope this makes sence to you

Many thanks

OK, I'm confused...

What is the actual problem you are trying to resolve?

I understand you do not have the standard radio head unit fitted any more, and that the standard connector is not plugged into anything. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

sorry about that. Clock doesnt work. Reading up everything i could i thought it was to do with fitting an aftermarket radio and i assume fitting wire(s) from one connector to the other would fix it

If there is no power supply to the clock then it will stop it working, so, yup, the new radio connector might be the problem.

What spec, what engine and what year is the thing? I'll take a look at the wiring diagram tomorrow if I get chance, if you can't wait until then find the RAVE download and work out what wires need to go from where to where from that :D

year 2000 3 door Di. Not sure on spec
I found a live and an ignition live behind the clock, in the purple and green wires but as that connector behind the radio isnt plugged in i'm guessing it needs like a signal wire from one connector to the other?

OK, I took a look at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual and it's chuff all help :(

The diagram does not show any difference between the remote display for the radio tuning and the one for the clock :(

If it was me trying to solve it I'd use some small crocodile clips and take the power from the circuit to the clock connectors, earthing the other connector, it's a 50:50 chance of getting the thing right.

I'm assuming the clock is the same digital display as is in the wife's Td4, if so all it needs is a power supply and a path to earth to complete the circuit.

I shall give it a go. Its strange how something as simple as a clock not working can send you bananas? No great power from the engine and rust i can live with but a clock that doesnt work is frustrating
