all jokes aside now people.
driving home last night, suddenly i hear thus huge clunking! sounded like the exhaust had fell off and was being dragged along.
so i pulled over and got underneath.
found this ring thing had come off where its meant to go and was on the moving bar that connect all 4 wheels (drive shaft?) - please exscuse my lack of mechanical knowledge.

So i put it back on and it looks and drives fine. This is how it looks now.

and this is a picture showing which piece actually fell right off., Ive moved it a bit just to show you the piece. it actually came right off when i was driving.

the part that has come loose is not the viscous coupling but the damper that bolts on to the viscous coupling. just get it bolted back on nice and tight. to check the coupling, take car to an empty car park, put a chalk line through the damper and viscous coupling. drive car on full lock a few times and check if the chalk line still lines up. if it does, the viscous coupling is faulty, if lines have moved, the coupling is slipping and working as it should

is it easy enough to bolt back on?
had a quick look and couldnt find anywhere to bolt thru?
will double check tommorrow
