Hello my new to me freelander, that has been stood for a 5 month stint.
I have run round in it fine but today it went on the moterway at 70 mph.
The thing revved highly uncontrolled and smoke came out of the back.
It lost fluids at the front but i am hoping it is just a pressure build up due to the revving.
My mechanic is going to give her a service as he recons old diesel and oil can cause the vehicle to run on oil.

Any ideas:violent:

all turbos have seals

the seals are between the chamber and oil wells as the turbos are oil cooled

and when the seals pass the oil goes into the chamber and the engine runs on the oil which makes it rev

If it is a 2.0 DI wich has a turbo.
What other vehicles have the same turbo.
Is the TD4 turbo the same.
Is there a better turbo to replace it with .
Would i need any management chip to use a diffrent turbo?

Nice one .
Ill wait untill the mechanic looks.
The pipes will probly cover it but i'll have the turbo reconed.
Thankyou
