Hello! forum noob so be nice ;)

I have a 52 reg Freelander TD4 basic model (not a car geek so know no more than that about it)

I just had the clutch slave cylinder replaced after the pedal hit the floor and didnt come back up. The thing is the clutch pedal is now really soft until its depressed half way down when I start to feel some resistance and the bite point is even further down. To change gear I now have to push to the floor whereas before I never had to and felt resistance immediately upon pressing. It does spring back up to the right up position straight away.

Is this just a case of a new part so get used to the difference? or is it likely there is still a problem? Is there a way to tighten the clutch pedal? The mechanics bled it twice after fitting so I'm sure they noticed how soft it was.

I'd rather be armed with some info before returning to them as mechanics are notorious at bull****ting women or maybe just me.

I had the master cylinder replaced a few years back too but dont think the slave was done at the same time. Not sure if entire unit was replaced this time or just the slave.

Thank you :)

I've had it a couple of times where you bleed it and get a good pedal. Then you come to it next day and its crap again.

Its just the remaining air settling.

I agree with Stewart.
