Silly question time......

After driving through a deeper than expected puddle. The engine lost power and I could not see behind for steam. After a few minutes the engine was back to normal, will this have done any damage to the engine?

cheers

could have just soaket the electrics if its a petrol which will make a poor spark or cause some plugs not to spark which wil make the engine run poorly if at all, otherwise you may have sucked some water into the engine which i did to my last truck - in which case get you chequebook out or start looking for a new engine

If the engine went " back to normal" it sounds like you've been lucky, might need a new air filter :) .

i did similar my snorkel came apart ran ok for a bit but then started to lose power and throw out smoke when goin up hill then no power after 2000rpm,, i needed a new inter cooler and cleaned all pipes, engine flush, oil, filters all changed and now running better then ever,,
if i was u id clean out all pipes from air inlet to inter cooler to engine, flush the inter cooler out then do engine flush, oil and filters all changed,

Thanks for all the advice. I checked the air filter which was dirty and needs replacing anyway but not soaking wet. I will change oil & filters, is it a big job to clean inter cooler & pipes. I'll also ask Santa for a snorkel :)
