Sierra Cosworth vs Defender 90...

Was hit up the back this afternoon by a Sierra Cosworth towing a horse box full of scrap metal.... I stopped with the traffic - he didn't - well, he did, but used my 90 as his brake...

Total damage is; broken reflector, rivet fallen from mud flap, scratches on the bumper, cracked towing electrics.

I'm calling that - Defender 1 : Sierra 0

What makes you think it is a Cossie?

Had Cossie badges on the side, I think it was one of the early saloon ones. I've probably remembered wrongly, but it either had a V4 or V6 label on the wing.

Sounds like a halfrauds special, would be surprised if it was a "proper" full cossie. Mayne a V6 2.9L but I thought they were only on the hatchbacks.

Cossie my eye wrong bumper, no bonnet vents, wrong seats plus who in there right mind would stick a towbar on it haha

2.3 sierra's were early models with a different front end unless its a bitsa its a 4x4 front bumper plus
my dvla check says its a 2.9 !!!

I'm surprised he noticed in the Sierra cos that early crumple zone has narf cushioned the blow

Good job your rear crossmember is solid otherwise it would have been the other way around

On a plus side as he was on his way to the scrappers he can weigh the lot in

According to mot history it was only back on the road last year after being off since 2008, just looks like an ordinary model to me.

Well it looks like the whole rolling lot can go straight to scrap now.

I am going assume the horse box was grossly overweight and the Sierra probably couldn't stop or am I jumping to unfair conclusions?

An MoT for a given vehicle and same being on the road are not exclusively mutual.

Only hatch back's but a choice of a single or double spoiler

Tis only a scratch on the ford, bit of light panel beating and a T-cut and it will be good as new.

My brother in law had a pink tuned XR4x4 Cosworth. It was stored behind our house for a few years (it was supposed to be weeks...). You can still see the dents in the monoblock.

I had a white xr4x4 on a D plate with the 2.9 v6 fab drive especially on the m8 they all thought it was a cop car lol...infact plods youst to give thumbs up when they passed me...was the double spoiler on the xri only and the only cosworth of the hatchback was the 500 and you wouldnt to a horsebox with that...the cosworth saloon was the saphire...if im correct

It's showing as an xr4x4 i. Somebody told me there are no fast Ford's that are type approved for towbars.
