Hi all

I have had a club event scheduled for next Saturday canceled due to lack of numbers. I've always wanted to drive stanage in Derbyshire (before the greenies step in and get it closed), so I propose to have a go at it next Saturday 29th May. Please add your name here if you wish to join me.

I am aware it needs to be driven one direction (East to West), but I would really appreciate being led by someone who has driven it before!

The plan:-

Saturday 29th May
9:30AM Meet for 10AM start
Meeting Place - FOX HOUSE PUB

I'd love to do it again, but can't do next weekend I'm afraid.

Stanage is doable in a standard motor if you have a good spotter to pick a line. Don't try it alone though.

Chaplegate is a very different story though. Only for modifieds, a lift and big tyres essential.

Have fun it's a great lane.

iv done stanage and am doing it again in the school holidays, will be a full day taking the kids and BBQ when we go,

could i have the grid reference for Chaplegate, just want to make shour its not on my rout cos one truck has no lift

Done from Rushup Edge east of Chapel-en-le-Frith to Bamber Booth.

The track up from Rushup Edge is narrow with some big rock steps, the top is easy, the decent to Bamber Booth is where the fun begins, BIG rock steps.

Here's a video of my going down Chaplegate: http://vimeo.com/11062493

PM me when you go?

I won't be doing Stanage now this Saturday, see my other thread about dropping my Disco in the drink...

oops!
Well the rangie boys are going up there at some point later in the year might be a good chance to catch up with them and show them the good lanes up in Derbyshire. Also a wild camping trip has to be on the cards at some point.
