I though I should post a note up to say what a good service I just received from Paddocks.

I ordered a genuine adwest steering box from them on feb 5th (£390!), and paid for the saturday delivery option. There were a few other things on the order too, and the stuff arrived as expected on the saturday. On inspection of the steering box, I noticed that the metal pipe had been slightly bent near the top of the steering box, and this resulted in a flattening of the pipe where it goes through the nut. There was a reasonable sized gap between the outside wall of the pipe, and the inner wall of the nut. Clearly this was a worry, but so was testing out the returns policy for Paddocks. I have read so so many bad reports online about the customer service there (most from years ago), and I took a long time to make my mind up.

On Monday night I read their returns policy online (30 days, new and unused condition, courier collection), and made the decision to email them. I emailed them 2 photos of the packaging, which had a hole in the bottom cause by the steering box, and 3 photos of the box and the bent/flattened pipe.

I followed my emails up with a phone call at 9:30am the next morning. The chap on the phone checked that no one else was dealing with it, and then gave me a returns number. He said that a new part would be delivered the next day, and the same courier would collect the damaged part.

Sure enough, at about 10:00am this morning, a nice chap from fedex delivered my new (undamaged) steering box, and collected the old one.

I know I did this very much "by the book"... photos, emails, phone call... but it was quibble free, and I thought it worth mentioning. Before I had made the decision to contact them, I was pretty stressed about what situation I may encounter. Thankfully the real experience was much better.

I've never had a real problem with them or their returns policy.
 
I'm not surprised it was damaged!...
I too used Paddocks but....
They kept sending me damaged goods....
Offside outer wing....dented
Pair of rear leaf springs....broken...both!
Chrome swivels..... dinged
True they did exchange promptly But....
I personally picked the replacement leaf springs up from them....
Don't use them anymore as ive found I get the same goods but....
Undamaged from famous four.....
