Well, after a bit of a wait to get some new door lock motors fitted, I finally picked her up yesterday!
I have been lurking around the Discovery forum for a few months now trying to pick up advice. Last week, i put a deposit down on one.
Shes a black '04 plate TD5 persuit with 116k on the clock. The chassis is good, everything seems to work as it should, there is lots of history and bills and she drove home very well, including a good stint on the motorway. She also came with a spare set of wheels with snow tyres on.
There is a bit more rust on the bodywork than i remember including above the windscreen where dirt must have got under the weather strip and fouled the paint. I need to try and get the strip off if possible (?) and treat the rust. Its not gone through yet and i would like to keep it that way! There is also quite a bit on the bottom of the back door.
Other than that I am very pleased and the wife loves it.
