Shackle Pickle

I've got some new 11 leaf front springs for my 2a/3 SWB diesel. Apparently these are the same as 109 front springs. Question; do they go on with normal 88"shackles and slip plate or should they have no slip plate and the longer 109" shackles? Paddocks reckon they should have the 109 fittings but the existing shackles are regular 88 size. Found one other supplier listing regular shackles
for 88 diesel too.... Anyone with a SWB diesel want the casting vote ??

Parts book shows different numbers for the front shackles on the 88 and 109.
