I have recently bought a used seat belt bar (i don't know the proper name) the one that bolts onto the rear bulkhead and sits a few inches higher than the seats, are there holes in the bulkhead or do i have to drill new ones to bolt it on, or better still has anyone a picture of one fitted.

Just ordered the exmoor version myself. Not fitted yet but you have to drill holes in the body capping on top of the tub, shouldn't need to touch the bulkhead. You may have a different version though!

Wasn't aware anyone did one, mine is an old original that i have had blasted and powder coated limestone. Mine won't be fitted for ages yet would you put a picture up of how the seat belts mount as well when its fitted.

Yeah no worries. The inertia reel bolts to bulkhead and the bar has a mounting for the shoulder mount bit. Will put a pic up when fitted anyway:)

Hello guys I'm watching this with interest, got my self a ragtop coming friday for my '67 but looking at the seat belt arrangements. Originally i was looking at the exmoor bar but i think it will foul the spare wheel (bolted to the bulkhead) but came across this on ebay LAND ROVER SOFT TOP RAISED UPPER SEAT BELT MOUNTING | eBay the one without the cross bar only trouble is it doesn't show what the seatbelt bolts too or which type it requires so will be good to see some pictures of yours ;

Was looking at that 1 myself. You are correct I think the bar does foul the spare but not an issue for me my spare just slides around the back! The way the seatbelt mounts is identical though, the shoulder mount bolts to the new frame and you need to mount inertia on the bulkhead. I'm planning on just drilling a hole through with some steel plate as reinforcement cos not convinced the bulkhead will be strong enough to mount securely.

Not the prettiest bit of kit is it, would not want that on mine.

they all seem to look very familiar in design, well to me anyway:confused: .
the picture with it tack welded together doesn't inspire much confidence but i do hope there fully welded. the only other option i can see is a modified military seatbelt/roll bar, but they seem considerably more money.

Hope this works I'm crap with tech:confused:

Not finished but shows how it's fitted. You just drill 2 holes each side for the base, the other mount is a bolt and spacer that goes through the groove on the inside of the capping. Obviously need to move the inertia reels lower!

Actually you can see in the top pic one of the slots the side mount goes through just under the bungy cable!
