I have a L322 RR Vogue V8, on an 02 plate which is due for a service in about 900 miles.

Wonder what the cost would be mileage currently is 28k, car has only ever had one service which was at 14k.

Also since I have extended LR warranty does it have to be done by an official LR dealer, if not any recommendations for East Sussex or Kent.

Thanks in advance

Nick

Nick,

Check your warranty is the only answer. My guess would be that as long as you use official Land Rover parts, the warranty is still valid if you were to use a local independent LR/RR specialist garage.

I would guess a standard service is as follows:

Oil Filters
Air Filters
Pollen Filters
Spark Plugs
Oil change
Brake fluid check
Brake pads/discs
General check over the car.

nice to see you kept services up to date :p

proper schedule is every 12 months or 15k miles

spark plugs every 4th service/4th year so i would change them

change brake fluid and anti freeze

warranty will be valid who ever ya use but never any arguements if lr dealer carries out

oh and as u not changed oil regularly your filter has probably broken up in housing(nice and messsy )

Not sure if this is +ve or -ve post, but when the car had the warranty done for the front prop/diff they said the car had been serviced in accordance with how they expected since the car tells you when to have it done.

I think what he's trying to say is that the basic service interval is 6,000 miles so by now you should have had 2 previous services before reaching 24K, one at 6000 then 12000 miles.

Therefore it sounds like a good service is in order if thats the case.

yes your right by saying the car tells you when service is due but this is worked out on fuel consumption,
so like ur car has only done 28k then the car has worked it out right.
so you have serviced it to milage not age
and service shcedule is 15k or every 12 months which ever comes 1st

so just because the brakes have only done 28k the fluid has still been in your system near on 4-5 years which would have possibly weakened due to water condensation and your anti freze would have broken down/diluted,

where they would not normally need changing at 24k they would need changing at 3 years if that makes sense

OK thanks for clearing that up, the pads I changed at 14k as that is all it had done for the first 3years of it's life
