Hi all

I'm hoping you can help me keep a lookout for my Series lll, SWB 71 plate pride and joy. Stolen last night from Slaithwaite near Huddersfield. I'm assuming its been watched for a bit and taken by somebody who know what they're after as its normally left in a different spot around the corner where it's impossible to roll it out but the weather left the road blocked with other cars so had to leave it around the corner. It's got an isolator (and yes I used it!) so couldn't be driven away by joy riders.

Anyway, it's painted up classic blue and cream, old style plates, free wheeling hubs, overdrive and series ll head lamps. Other than that its kept fairly true to form.

I realise its a long shot and has probably been broken already, but I would really appreciate any ideas as to where I should go from here. It's my only form of transport and I'm desperate to make as much effort as possible to find it

Many thanks

Jo

Bugger. Probably took it for its tax exempt status, or for parts. Bastards. Keep an eye out for it.

As stated use landywatch. What did the rozzers say?

Thanks guys. Will try landy watch. Police lovely but useless. They're pretty sure it was trailered out, unofficially they think they know who buggered off with it and reckon its probably being broken in Barnsley. There was another they tried on the same night about 1/4 mile away right on the only main road but got disturbed, so at least somebody was a big luckier. Just got to wrestle with the insurance company now!
With this in mind I'm on the look out for a Series 109 as a replacement but they seem a bit thin on the ground, so any ideas/miracles there would be great! Will take a wander to the sales board I think....

They are about. Nice ones that is that haven't been defaced with a 200tdi or 2.5 conversion.

Go and see if you can find it in Barnsley then put the police onto where you find it.

Hi do you have any more pictures I think I seen this last night on the back of a trailer m6 south stafford !!

I am a ford fan myself and always on series one turbo forum site so always look out for cars on trailers as I work nights so they always look dodgy

I am a hgv driver and was going down heathrow delivering last night when a J plate land rover come past me at stafford on the back of a trailer towed by a 10 plate black range rover or discovery i wrote part of the no plate down **10 2c

Just found my notes it was defo REG Number AK10 *CU black r/r between 00:30-01:15

It's a miracle - I've got my Landy back and in one piece!!!
Found a few miles away, it appears the quirks in her wiring may have stopped them getting too far. They didn't touch any of my gear in the back and left the 1/2 tank of diesel I'd just put in. They've made a messy job of the wiring and knackered half the dash but it'll all fix. Just been stung with a whacking police recovery fee and an electricians bill to prepare for. Thanks for the advice and lookout. Any thoughts on security improvements? Everything apart from a Doberman looks pointless.

disc lock, pedal lock box, parking bollards removable type. Think lead farmer put a couple in his drive way

Glad you got it back ...despite the damage ...

After having a conversation with the police after being stopped on the M1 south near to Wakefield last year (Me and the Mrs were on the way home from the lakes, she in the SII with caravan on the back and me in my SIII )
Barnsley was quoted as being the epicentre for stolen landrovers ...They reckoned they knew exactly What gang was responsible for the current spate of thefts (hers was attempted a fortnight or so earlier from near to Wakefield)

Time to call an all out Nuke strike on the scumbags of Barnsley i reckon .

Unless you are saying you are a "scumbag" then it wasn't aimed at you ....so chill out .
Cops i spoke to reckoned there was a gang from Barnsley after landies ...And that makes 'em scumbags in my book wherever they are from end of .

That's pretty much the same conversation I had. With the added bonus of greater Manchester being straight over the hill and another option.

Glad you got it back. Old Bill got it wrong.....obviously not trailered away! Perhaps joy riders wanting fun in snow?
I use pro stop lock bar on the steering wheel and a pedal box. You're only buying time but probably enough to put most off.
