Series 3 wiper motor - auto return?

I've picked up a series three wiper motor to fit on my series 2.

Currently I have a motor on which I need to switch off exactly when wipers at bottom of screen. I don't think its a proper LR motor.

Does a standard Series 3 wiper motor have a cut off microswitch in it?
If it does, I'll fit it.

If not, I'll just keep for spares.

Mine home by themselves. You'll need to make sure all four wires are connected - perhaps this is why your current motor doesn't home?

yes, volt free contact to work in conjunction with the twiddly wiper knob on dash. cant remember wire colours or terminations tho, would have to look them up.
your current motor probably has the switch, just not wired in cos its a confusing setup if your not familier.
then theres one speed or two speed motors!

only seen one, and found it while trying to sort out screen wash switch on twiddle knob. rotary bit had 3 positions!

No twidley knobs or two speed on my current setup.
The motor only has a +ve and -ve to it, and i've wired to a toggle switch.
Like i've said, dont think its a LR item.

Will have a look at the spare one i've got, and see what options that gives me, to see if worth changing.

Have you not got the washer wiper switch on the dash? It's a neat way of doing it.

It's not the motor which is dual speed. ... I have a intermittent unit installed with my wiper setup. I just had a switch with 2 position [light switch], ... and connected a short circuit for 1 and another with a intermittent unit installed in parallel. Works a treat.

Wipers that work...... Wots that all about?????
next we'll be talking about heaters that keep you warm!!!!!
