Evening all, my drivers door has dropped a bit, just enough to stop the door catch meeting up with the plate so the door does not click shut. i had look at the hinges and the top 2 turn fine the bottom 2 have been stripped nearly and with what grips i did get they did not turn. whats the best fix for this do you think from others with this issue. the door only needs to go up a little to meet the rubber and eastern but a bit stuck. not looked yet due to being dark so early but is it easy to drill out the bolts and get to the back and replace the nuts. or is there another fix option.

thanks

martin

Put a jack under the door and give it a good thrutch. Might just lift it back up without all the grief.

Worked on an old escort I once had. Ford Escort that is...................

The captive nuts are threaded and have slipped so not securing the door in position. That's the first option. There might be a reason for why it's happened. Have you got any rot at the bottom of the door pillars? I'd have a look underneath as well at the door pillar rests. The top bolts n nuts may have slipped as well. I'd replace them all for what it costs. If your pillar is rotten that's a different problem.
