Hey took my s3 2.25 diesel off roading today and noticed how much water got thrown over the engine bay, ideally I don't want to fit a snorkel because I'm 17 and my insurance won't like it
I'm not massivley bothered about the water, but it's my air intake that worries me!!! I've considered some kind of sponge over the head of the filter (standard oil bath) got this idea from a mates Pit bike, any thoughts?
(Ps sorry if this has been asked, but all I can find is info on custom snorkel jobs)
Thanks ben :)

Ring your insurer you may well be surprised. they hate lowered power increases Snorkles not too bad.

thin walled Steel snorkle is best but drain pipe with some care is actually not as daft as it sounds. it does not shatter or splinter just splits if it gets hit by something.

Loose the oil bath filer for an inline sealed unit K n N are Very good by design.

your options are fit snorkle be safe don't fit snorkle and dont drive any deep water.

Most people put the intalke behind the engine bay high up however the water is ALWAYS that bit too high to be sure

Im no planning on over the bonnet type water, im also thinking about removing the fan and putting an electric one in, im guessing its this fan that caused water to splash EVERYWHERE !
