Series 3 can i put disc on it

Hi everybody.
I've got a series 3 from 1977 88inch wheelbase and I'm wondering if I can put disc on it if so where can I get some.

EBay do old reproduction discs for a few bob. Alternately you can search Google for a year and print it off but it’ll have a different reg number unless you have photoshop.

Or, do you mean a handbrake disk? Or front disk brakes?

Got the Zues all round kit on mine and love it, i also have an Xbrake hand brake as well

Did you have to put different wheels on to allow for the calipers?

No i already had modular wheels fitted

I've the Zeus kit, it simply will not fit standard series/defender rims. Only wolf rims work, or modulars etc.

Without servo assistance disc brakes give less braking force than Drums. Drum brakes mechanically self servo, meaning friction between shoes and Drums causes the shoes to wedge inside the rotating drums.. Disc Brakes rely on the clamping of the calipers only.. Well sorted Drum brakes work very well, But it would be interesting to hear what difference the disc brake conversions have really made..

I like the twin leading shoes system, with a servo. Works well, except for repeated braking in mountains, where the disks come into their own, less fade.

I can see that.. I drove up then down the swiss Alps, with a loaded Sanky trailer.. I did smell the brakes very soon on the way back down. The brakes continued to squeal ever after, Glazing of the shoes no doubt.
I have no brake Servo on the series 1 but live in the slow lane...

Not tax disc then
