Had a day off work today, glorious sunshine, perfect weather for getting the first primer coat on the bulkhead, bonnet and rear tub, wife says shes got her car booked in for MOT next Tuesday and would I mind having a look at passenger front door.No problem says I,whats wrong.Oh she says its not been opening from the handle on the outside for 6 weeks. Now i'm fairly sure that's an MOT failure.Seven hours later its fixed. What a bastard of a job.Its a 2004 rover 75.The designer needs shot and wife needs told that sometimes it would be helpful to have a wee heads up on car faults!

Been busy with other pursuits over the summer but now getting back into project. Doing a bit more painting.

Hi Nathan, I have a 1970 series 2a myself, I gave 380 quid, chassis is mint apart from outrigger tops, rear cross member top one place, and door pillers as it had new chassis in 91, I love these old girls but the bargain buckets defiantly come with there problems bless em. Oh well good luck and remember

ONE LIFE, LEAF IT

Cheers, hope yours doesn't take as long as mine. I can see the end in sight, maybe by the end of the year. Not done much over the summer as been busy and had to do a weldathon on the Discovery to get it through its MOT( new sills, rear arches, bootfloor ect). Had a few hours today so managed to prime a few more bits.

£450 including delivery on the back of a car transport trailer from about 45 miles away.I looked into hiring a trailer and doing it myself(would cost me £65 for hire of trailer and £25 in fuel) so when the seller said he could deliver it too i took him up on the offer. If it needs a new chassis then i paid too much!!!

shame I just sold my 2a, that had a good chassis just needed 5 wee patches but literally just sold it last night and came with loads of spares, and tyres not that old too. 400 with 19j for quick sale and you not too far from me, I'm in angus.

Too cold and damp to do any more spray painting so got on with the wheels.Military split rims that hadn't been apart for a while necessitated a slow approach to separating the two halves, plenty heat and penetrating fluid and lots of patience saw all the nuts come off without breaking any bolts or twisting them.A good derusting then followed.Split rims can be lethal if you don't let all the air out of the tyre before cracking off any of the nuts!

I had a set of them on my 86", I had them powder coated limestone white and they looked very smart plus I trialed it and the finish was very durable.

Not posted for a while but new wiring harness from Autosparks fitted last week(missing the small sub harness from 6 way switch to bulkhead terminal block but they said they would forward one if I supplied details) so can't complain. New ignition components fitted(first cheap coil from paddocks burnt itself out in minutes and HT lead supplied in kit was too short-all Britpart) but fired up on the starter push button with a temporary fuel tank rigged up. I did enjoy the smoke screen as the oil I had put down the bores 2 years ago burnt off. Disappointed that the charge warning light stays on so might have to take a look inside dynamo and lucas rb340 voltage regulator. Numerous other electrical issues as well ie indicators and horn not working but suspect faulty components after being left outside for so many years.

Currently still without wings, doors, seatbox ect and rear tub but tempted to take it out the garage and zip up and down the drive for hoots when the snow goes.

Only 4hrs to go till test. Got it insured yesterday and took it for a spin round the block this am (on route to test station, honest officer). First time it's been driven any distance. But my god is it bouncy! Good fun though. Crossing fingers for test now

It passed,no advisories. This forum and others has been very helpful in solving the various questions asked alone the way. Thanks everybody.
