series 2-3 footwell repair..

Hi guys,

I need to repair (replace actually) the pass side footwell on my LR. There is nothing left of the old steel, it completely rotted away. I know you can buy replacement ones everywhere, but im in the Canaries & i'm not coming home anytime soon, & getting parts here or sent here is a nightmare!

I have the facility & ability to make my own, but i need a template to work from. I've tried google-ing it but couldnt find anything.

So my question is, has anyone done this recently & by any chance to you have drawing for the footwell panel?

i have a repair section in the workshop.
next time i'm in, i'll photo an measure it.

edit- or make it up as you go. other side can be copied roughly.

that would be very helpfull if you could do that! Id like to get the panels cut & bent etc first so i have them ready to be tacked it. I think it will probabily save me time & it means i wont need to borrow a friends welder for so long...lol

LOL your as forgetful as me then?! the only reason i remember is because of the 2 ton lump of metal on my drive....

it's a bent bit of metal - not exactly rocket science ...
NRG's repair section is gonna be exactly the same shape as the footwell you already have.
Can't you just measure you own footwell?

did i suggest using the drivers side as a template?

anyway, i have measured an photo'd it.

now i need to download the phonecam and translate the grotty piece of paper with measurements on into something you might be able to read......

ok, so theres some pics below, apologies for the bad light.
lastly, theres some measurements that have been drunkenly translated.
i have not allowed on the drawings for folding and overlapping of the edge panels to the footwell panel. this can be seen on the pics.
again apologies for the rushed pics!

should note that the drawing is flat and requires folding.
also just realised that i missed the depth measurement from the door piller fold line to the 3" fold
lines. should be possibe to work these out on a curved line, but will endevour to get them for tomorrow
