in normal operating mode the SLS warnins is not supposed to flash, only the ORM one, there are only two cases when the SLS fault warning is supposed to flash but both are ''special'' cases, so let's rule these out first:

1. if you use the SLS remote to lower or rais the rear, so if you have such fob make sure it's not in the car with the lowering button stuck... is your central locking working normally, very uncommon but it's possible that the roof receiver to erratically send that specific lowering command like when you use the fob

2. if it's set to transport mode

i quote you exactly the operation and think about that and if everything in this rea is ruled out then the ECU remains the last suspect, the SLABS ECU is behind the glovebox, it's common for SLS and ABS
1. ....
When raising or lowering the SLS using the remote handset, the SLS warning lamp will flash and the audible warning
will sound when the system is operating. When the SLS is fully lowered the warning lamp will stay illuminated.
The
SLS will reset to normal ride height if the vehicle speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h) for 10 seconds when the SLS is
lowered.

2. ...
The transportation mode lowers the rear suspension onto the bump stops with the engine not running. When the
suspension is in transportation mode, the SLS warning lamp is continuously illuminated when the ignition is in position
II.
When the engine is started in transportation mode, the SLS system will raise the rear suspension until a gap of 25
mm (1 in.) exists between the bump stop and the axle. The SLS warning lamp will flash continuously while the SLS
system is raising the suspension. When the gap between the bump stop and the axle is achieved, the warning lamp
will illuminate continuously.

it sounds like its in transportation mode, even though ive checked using the hawkeye, and its supposedly not
I've disconnected the battery and charging it overnight, and will fit 2 new height sensors tomorrow as there not looking the best

is it behaveing like in the transport mode description?... i mean does it rise 1" when you start the engine?

it has been raising the system on start up a small amount, which is when the sls is flashing, then the sls stopped flashing and stays permenantly lit.
Now though the sls light flashes continuously and the car doesnt raise,
Ive tried raising it using the hawkeye but it doesnt shift,
Im suspecting that keep trying to get it to pump up has broken the compressor,
so I'll start by checking that today.

It seems like it was stuck in transport mode for some strange reason... i've never seen this kind of issue before, see the codes maybe you get a "compressor duty cycle exceeded" or "open load" fault code then if you clear it it might work again... let's hope it's not the ECU gone though

Ok, I think ive sorted it, but it was a strange one,
I fitted new ride height sensors today then connected the battery up, and started the car, it raised a small amount as it would if set in transportation mode!
Went through all the settings and it was in normal mode, so I reset the car into actual transport mode and it immediately lifted itself to the correct height all lights on the dash went out and even the ORM button functioned as it should.
So from there I switched the car off and it dropped about 10mm which is about right, switched it back on, went through hawkeye again and set it to normal mode and it's still working,
So dont know whats happened but its all functioning as it should,----For now, lol.
Big thanks to Sierrafery for his help and knowledge, and now to get the free upgrade to version 7 for the hawkeye

welcome
:clap2:.. that's good news, i love happy endings:)... as you said very strange, fascinating LR world:cool:

you'll need a 20 quid cable for the upgrade you know?...then the rest is simple, download it and send a mail to omitech tech support with the serial number... it's explained on theyr's site, V.7 will let you calibrate the height if needed simple and easy you'll only need to stick the body with jacks at the proper level or improvise calibration blocks... i did it with two jacks and it worked

no matter what work you'll do from now one which implies body/chassis movements with ignition off disconnect the battery first

if you send the hawkeye to bearmach they update it for free and send it back to you with no need to buy the cable, you still need the unlock code from Omitech though

does anyone know where to connect the 12v supply on a hawkeye whilst upgrading its software, as mine doesn't appear to have a socket for it, unless its under one of the stickers or rubber pads?

i used an universal multivoltage charger which had many addaptors and one was good... it's a round plug like some laptops or chargeable flashlights have...i'm not at home to check it out exactly now or to make a pic just from memory

cheers for that, just needed to know that its doable, didnt like the idea of spending £30 on a glorified phone charger

you can make an ideea of the plug here
