Problem is... listing all these amazing ideas on a public forum turns them from being amazing ideas into crap ideas anyone can by-pass.

Why compromise on cheap security products to protect your expensive vehicle (of any type)

Buy the best full steering lock:
Halfords | Disklok Steering Lock (Silver) Small

(its cheaper as Tesco's)

Buy the best pedal box:

Clutch Claw - Car Security Product

and, my personal favourite...

Remove a wheel or two and leave it on axle stands.

I wouldn't worry too much about the solenoid wire... if someone wanted to nick a series you could just bring your own battery with a couple of wires dangling off it and get it going in seconds... that's no secret... it's obvious to people who know the basics of an engine

Cus nobody understands what an Earth is... in fact i think most people struggle with the concept of vehicle electronics... which is fair enough, it is a bit of a black art... but a series engine or 200tdi is not exactly rocket science to get going.

Putting in isolator switches is better than nothing, means someone can't just hop in and drive off... but... its just not bomb proof

thats all that all these security things are, if they want it bad enough they will get it, but i think i would prefer to have has many deterants on my series so that maybe the opportunist may have second thoughts.

Unless it is a shiny Series 1 and possibly more so now Series 2 you won't get many people interested in it anyway... and different kinda crooks anyway - defenders are easy to steal, easy to break for parts, fun to joy ride (suposidly) and useful for smash and grab jobs.

A series is too old, slow, confusing, etc. for a standard crook - though - a classic could be stolen to order (a bit like fine art is stolen)

Another simple one for you to do though...

Look at your 3 leavers... 3 leavers - no other vehicle has 3 and it could be confusing to someone who doesn't know what they all do... if say you left them in a sensible combination of positions to disable the vehicle.
