So I've finally found the cause of my vibration!!!:bounce::bounce::) After replacing almost everything I gave in and took it to a dealers. We went for a long test drive I got the p38 to make the noise when sat at traffic lights and the tech guy said that's your transfer box Will! Back to the dealership and on the ramp he went underneath and asked me to shift through the gears (auto) with a bar he wiggled the transfer box and got it to vibrate every time!! I'm really glad to finally of found the cause of my idle vibration but now I can't decide if I should buy a low mileage second hand box and have that fitted or if I should have mine reconed by ashcrofts or buy one from a breakers and recon it myself then fit! Your thoughts please..:).

How the feck do you "wiggle" a 100Kg transfer box? Nothing on the inside is likely to be affected by wiggling the outside unless he was playing with the shift motor. The chain and internals are not moving with the car stationary and in gear and in fact would be under tension. You sure it's not the gearbox mount?

"apparently" Its one of the bearings inside that is doing it.
Sounds like bull**** to me. The transfer box is bolted to the auto box, there is nothing that can be wiggled to affect the noise, except, as I said, perhaps the shift motor, With the vehicle stationary, none of the bearings are doing anything. You could try going from hi to lo and see if that has any effect.
