Before I start getting all creative, Has anyone got a reccomendation for which seats work best in an SIII with underseat tanks? The ones that are in there at the mo are tatty to say the least and the drivers side sits about 3" higher at the back than the front, resulting in a numb bum! The seats need to tip forward, the current passenger seat doesn't move at all so the tank on the nearside is redundant.

At the moment I am reckoning on building my own seats and hinging the base at the rear so the seats will tip up from the front, thus allowing easier acess to the tanks. I can make the bases no problem but would have to give them to an upholsterer for finishing.

Anyone got a suggestion for some "off the shelf" seats that would work?

I got hold of some chequer plate and Corsa seats today. What I'm going to do is make a plate for the seats and hinge it at the rear with nickle plated piano hinge and mount the seats top that. The idea is to tilt the seat forward and then lift up the plate to access tha petrol tanks.

The reason for all this shinnanigans is because I have two boys who argue over who will be going out in Daddy's landy. By altering the seats I will be able to put in the third central seat, have access to both tanks and keep the kids quiet!!

last night, I fitted an internal roll bar to take the top seat belt mounts ... all three of them. A local metal bender made the roll bar to my spec for..... a whole £50.00 BARGAIN! Took me 90 mins to fit it. being able to take the roof off is a god send !!

just fitted some wolf seats to my SIII got all three for a bargain at last weeks show they bolted straight in using holes that were already there and the bases lift right out so you can access the cubby holes underneath and a quite comfy also

i have the same problem as you my son always wants to sit in the front also

now he can
