Salisbury Rear Axle and parabolics

I am well into the strip down of me Series 3 and have decided to start buying parts. :D

I am making all the mechanicals sound first and will do a rolling resto of the aesthetics.

So a bit of back ground I am going to use the land rover for heavy duty off roading and towing and I am thinking of going on an overland expedition. Do you think it would be a good idea to fit a Salisbury Rear Axle and/or parabolics?

I don't know if it would be possible to fit parabolics with +2" lift and a Salisbury or would the angles for the prop shaft become too much? (anyone seen this done before or done it themselves advice appreciated) or can I get a special type of prop shaft / fabricate my own?

Does fitting either of these increase the strain on the gearbox/engine/drive train significantly? (enough to cause increased wear/failure)

At the moment I am running a bog standard 2 1/4 petrol which I was planning on upgrading but have been offered a rover V8 out of a car though (so not sure if it will fit).

Oh and one other thing I forgot in the original post is I want to put a locking diff in the rear axle and I take it standard series diffs get ripped apart by this?
