Had mine done today. They had it for 1 hour and 15 minutes, job done, no fuss. Coffee and biccies while I waited.

Hi,
I have had a phone call from my local dealer to say they can`t get the bolts out of the axle.
It will have to go back in next week as they have had to order a new set of bolts & they will have to cut the old bolts off with the gas axe. I don`t think they have even looked at it.
They have had the vehicle all day and done ****all not happy.
That's pretty poor.
I don't think I would want them cutting the bolts of with a gas torch. Bit of heating them up with gas or induction heater should get them off I would have thought.
Sounds like a bit of bad organisation to me.

I have a look under the vehicle and they have had an impact wrench on one bolt and because it did not come out they left the job, A poor attempt, no WD 40 ore even the
use of a wire brush. A case of all the gear and no idea ! they might be good with a laptop
but when it comes to basic engineering hopeless. So I have removed the bolts myself
a bit use with a wire brush, run around the threads with a tread file & some WD40 &
they came out no problem. cleaned up with an electric wire brush, some anti seize and refit. Booked in again for Thursday & no need heat.

I have had a look on the web and it looks like they use the two bolts that hold the radius arm to the front axle and the other end just hooks around the bolts that hold the swivel
to the axle tube, Not a proper fix but it might catch the wheel if the weld fails then what?

Mine broke last bank holiday Friday. I wouldn’t have known except for the oil leaking out! The wheel was a little crooked but the “fix” from the recall did what it was meant to. It stopped it falling off completely!

Time to take it back and say 'well that happened' ...

I'm afraid I don't have the time to waste, they won't do anything about it I will just loose time and money on the phone or writing e-mails. If anyone wants to try on my behalf knock yourself out.
