Hi all,

Any idea's as to safely remove rusted in screws from the roof bar, only picked the car up on Sunday and thought I'd treat the kids to an open air drive before school starts tomorrow.

Looks like the screws have been in place for several years!

Any help/advise appreciated.

Simon.

Soak em in WD overnight, the Proceed to undo them with a battery drill on the lowest torque setting upping the torque setting until they undo, but don't muller the screw by going at it like a loon

Ps as you have a freelander, a battery drill looks a bit like your hairdryer with a spinny bit on the end ;);)

Cheers Billy, as regards Freelander, a blokes gotta start somewhere!

I didnt bother with half of mine. Drilled the head off, then vice gripped the stub and twisted it that way. On the more stubborn ones I drilled a hole through the bolt stub and put a pin through it to get more leverage.
