Rust in peace

Seen this Series 3 through the trees on one of my bike rides, it's been there well over a decade.

Yesterday l decided to take a closer look, the old girl is returning to nature in the corner of a field. Looks like she's been there over 15 years.
Last MOT ran out in 2006.
The windows are open so the interior has suffered, but there's not that much of it.

Hard to tell condition of the chassis etc and nobody seems to know who she belongs to.

Probably one of the local farmers, although l doubt it would be worth pulling out of its resting place.

Pah ripe for restoration that is..

Knowing farmers they’d still want £6k for it

On the classic car shows they talk about barn finds, I suppose that's a hedge find.

Need a hedge fund to restore it too
Land registry search would may identify land owner although not necessarily Land Rover owner

Why not try applying for a V5? As I understand it, if they cant get hold of the owner, and nobody objects in the given timeframe, they send you the V5, and then I guess its yours?

No, that's not how it works. That's called theft.

You might get V5 but doesn't mean it's yours.

The DVLA is very clear on this for that reason the V5 is the registered keeper and does not show proof of ownership, there is a difference.
