Gents,
Have a problem now. Went to start my RRC and heard a funny sound in the dash and have completely lost all electrical power. Battery is still charged but nothing electrical works, not even the Hazard warning lights. Is there a special relay I should be looking for, checked the manual but could find nothing there.
Thanks
Fergus

you better be telling them what year.

there are numerous possible causes, if you haven't already it would be best getting hold of a workshop manual like "RAVE" download free, my RR is 94 soft dash LSE, and not sure if the same as 93 MY, for mine I would check fusable link near battery and other suspect fuses in the fuse box near the barttery to begin with.

Never been able to find it on my 3.5efi but don't all fuel injection fitted vehicles have a inertia cut-out switch, or is that just for the fuel pump? Could that have tripped?

Thanks gent, I was hoping it was a relay hidden in the depths of the dash.......will troubleshoot and then probably run a hot wire to the ignition.

IIRC I don't think the 3.5EFI has the inertia switch. It relies on the fuel pump being energised by a switch in the MAF controlled by the flapper being moved by the inflow of air while the engine is being started or running.

Pete

Thanks Pete, so I'm at least partially sane after all

I pulled of the dash to check the ignition load relay and realised I need a multimeter to see if it was getting power.......so.......got the multimeter and ran it over one of my batteries first (dual batteries, one for the starter and one for all else). What do you know, the ignition one was completely drained 2.4V. The other that I was using full voltage.
Problem sorted although I don't know why the battery drained in the first place, at least I know where the ignition load relay is now..!!
Thanks to all for the help, much appreciated.
