On the door locking mechanism (drivers door) I beleive their is a spring that releases the catch. Is it common for these to fail ?weaken thus preventing the catch to release fully.
I swapped the servos over on the front doors thus eliminating the possibility of failure ,but the door release still would not fully release.unless you then pulled the button fully up (approx 2mm)
If that is the case are these springs available or is it a hands in the pocket job and by a new lock.?
Everything is freely operating and have tried the adjusting to no avail.

From the actuator unit there is a series of small steel rods attached together on various plates, these rods then connect to the door catch, over time like any moving part they ware, that could be the cause of your problem, it may also be that one of the rods has become bent, I would take a close look

One of the first things that I did was to compare like for like with the rods when I was swapping over the locking servos. Everthing tallied.
I've just popped out and would you believe it the b.....y thing worked,
however on returning to unlock the same problem reoccured.
As you can well apprecieted it's a bit of a fiddley job but I'll just have to
persevere .
Thanks for the input.

The passenger door on my RRC was doing that - would unlock but wouldn't lock properly. I found you can adjust the servo where it's mounted and slide it back or forth on the mount. If you slide it closer to the outside of the door, that might help.

Ignore that - I didn't read the whole post!
