The ABS is playing up again:mad: The brake pedal feels soft then after an application or two it feels normal again. I suspect the master cylinder is on its' way so will be changing the booster valve assembly as I believe you can't replace the seals.

The point to my question is that there has also been a lot of activity from the brake check relay in the drivers side foot well. I've looked at the wiring diagrams but can't find a description of what it actually does. Can somebody tell me what the brake check relay does and what its relationship is to the ABS system, I'm not convinced it is connected but would like to know.

The other thing is that in the workshop manual, it says the brake check relay was only fitted for the Australian market but the Haynes book of lies suggests it was fitted to all 1990/91 ABS equipped Classics so am a bit confuzzled.

Cheers.

Dunno about ABS 'playing up', but that sounds more like the brakes have air in the system and need bleeding properly, or there's a leak and air is getting in somewhere. Until the air is purged (bled out) the ABS can never function correctly.
