I know my RR is fitted with the PTI (personal telephone integration) system but my mobile phone cannot find it through bluetooth.

My mobile is on the approved list of compatible handsets as well.

LR suggest taking the vehicle into a local dealer to look at it but this will incur silly costs if all I have to do is turn the cars system on?

The instruction book is typically confusing.

Any ideas?

turn on the kit , then turn on your mobile , go into bluetooth , search or add new devices depending on the make and model , my motorola is a doddle to set up as is the wifes nokia, select "landrover" from the list , when it asks for the pin number enter 2121 . job done.
set my dads up in about 5 mins tops.

The problem is how do I know if the bluetooth is activated in the vehicle itself. I know the bluetooth on my phone works because I can send files and things to others etc.

The phone does not pick the car up?

I really am lost because 2 LR dealers and LR themsevles have told me my car is fitted with the phone system as it shows up when they do a VIN search. I've even double checked the HPI to make sure I have not got a 'cut and shut'.

The car has got all the phone buttons intergrated into it BUT 'telephone' does not show up on the digital read out (radio/cd/car info display) and there is not car holder in the center where you could put a sim card in for the fully integrated phone system.

Just a thought, but has happend on a few of my company cars so hopefully it is the same with your car.

Make sure that you have the keys in the ignition and turned on to activate the bluetooth system.

Then set your mobile to search.

hope it works
