Have started sifting through all the threads about these, but thought I'd throw a question out anyway! Bit of back ground first, when I bought my Disco (a '94 300tdi ES with air bags) the horn worked fine, now tho its stopped working and while attempting to press the horn switch on the wheel (which didn't work) the SRS warning came on and now stays on when driving! I asked about it at the time and someone suggested the Rotary Coupler....my question is, can these be repaired like so many other electrical items on the Disco, or does it have to be replaced?

Hi Fazer, im not sure about fixing it, I doubt it. From memory there is about 14 foot of ribbon inside and after removing the air bag and steering wheel the coupler has to be removed in its correct position. I wouldn't want to unravel the ribbon, try and find the strands or strands that have snapped, repair and try to ravel it all back up again.

Fozzie.

Extremely expensive new, somewhere around £200. Bought mine used for about £25 plus postage. Not really repairable as they seem to be very fragile and very sensitive to being turned when not installed as intended. Ask me how I know!

Blimey! Didn't see that one, think maybe I'll just go down the replacement option and leave well alone ;-)
