Roof rack issues

So bought a roof rack in eBay from a chap who described is as fitting a disco 1 & 2 and it doesn't fit (see photos). He swears it does and I just need to push it in however I've stood on the rear tyre and pushed it in the gutter with all 94kg of my weigh and nothing. It just rest on the plastic rim on the gutter which is on the disco 2 not 1. Is the disco 2 gutter different on the facelift than the non face lift?

Wasted £76 on delivery too and scratched my roof

I had a similar issue on the one I put onto mine we pulled the legs in with a ratchet strap

I'm worried it will break the gutter?

Problem is on the disco 2 gutter the rim on the inside of the gutter in the middle stop it going in an even so the bottom bar is way to wide
