I thought I was the only one who had picked this up/was bothered, after the budget.

Any Disco,s with a TD5 in registered after March 2001, ( 262 g/km ) will be £ 440 in 2009 and £ 450 in 2010.

Little more than a grubby tax grab !!. ( £ 36 a month just for the road tax ! ).

I ronically, the epitemy of the " Chelsea tractor ", the X5, @ 216 g/km is only £ 300 .

Robbing arseclarts !.

Get yerself a 300TDi - only £185/yr.........

just bought a 200 tdi 1994 to replace a toyota previa bus,turns out it costs exactly the same so its a big for me (apart from the fact ive had the disco a week and somethings draining the battery so i cant start it)

Probably the battery draining the battery, do an electrolyte check with a hydrometer if there a big difference between the cells or if theres one cell very low then thats your answer. Does it stay charged if you disconnect the -ve terminal?

I used the same logic. Got a 1994 200tdi to beat our friend Gordon. I now have to take it to a VOSA center for a VIC because the dealer it came from chose not to tell the truth.
