hello ok now my engine problem has been rectified ive decided to totally restore my disco, it has the usual rust and dodgy bits all over so im looking to empty it completley remove the body and start from scratch, now i was thinking of documenting and photographing this from begining to end as i assume i may be helpfull to others i was just wondering if it would be uselful and what catagory to post it into as it will be months of work and an ongoing post
so let me know if its something you would like to see
thanks:)

I think it would be a fantastic post & very interesting to read over the weeks & months, but promise us you wont give up halfway through, even if you hit jackpot on the lotto

yes i promise lol, if i won the lottery it would get moved to a major custom built workshop lol (i wish i had that now ) but im certainly gonna try to keep it updated regularly and hopefully make it informative enough so it helps people out, ill be starting it in a couple of weeks im just gettin ready for the strip down and more importantly how im gonna get the body off lol, but ill think of something

I will provide help, support and jealousy if you remove the body and do a full resto.

Was just saying last night how id love to put 10k into mine and make it better than new, galv chassis, acid dipped body etc. oh the joys!

sadly i cant afford to pay someone to do it and havent the time or space at the moment to take it on.

however i would truly LOVE to see your build, it may inspre me to make future plans :D

getting the body off is achievable with a fork lift and strops or an overhead gantry and a 4x4 with a winch.

if you remove all the weight the roof is strong enough to lift the body without damage if you strop carefully :)

thanks well id also love to have it dipped etc however its gonna be the old fashioned way of elbow grease, rust treatments, welding(of course) waxoyl etc more new parts than craddocks stock and a hell of a lot of time, however the end result should be sweet
