just had a weird thing happen with the remote locking. '96 disco 2.5d, has a key and a remote fob with two buttons, one to lock it and one to unlock it. Has worked fine since having the car but this morning I unlocked it with the emote as usual and sat in it with the door open for about 10 minutes. When I tried to lock it with the remote as usual, the doors all locked then immediately unlocked again. Tried again, same thing. Checked all doors were closed and tried again, same thing happened. Locked it with the key and it was fine. Tried remote again, still unlocked straight away. The hazards were flashing for 20 seconds or so after each attempt and the engine immobiliser ( switches on and off with the remote locking) was actice so it wouldnt start.
I locked it with the key and left it, when I came back an hour later it was fine.
The handbook says something about the immobiliser being activated five minutes after the ignition is turned off and a door opened but I hadnt touched the ignition at all.
As I say its all fine now but had cars in the past where immobilsers play up and its a real pain. Any suggestions as to the problem ( if there is one)?
