Hey guys,

Removed my panhard rod today to rebush it with polybushes and didn't mark which way up it went, and which way round.

RAVE says that "the panhard rod is shaped at one end to allow clearance for the axle casing" - but as far as I can see the rod is identical each way round!

Any tips?

Cheers!

David

There appears to be some numbers/letters stamped into the bush housing at the steering box end. And a yellos blob of paint.

I couldnt see any thing stamped into the other end. ( but it is still attached ).

Dont know if this helps.

Del.

Hi Del,

Sorry to trouble you yet again - I have found the markings (they are only at one end of the rod).

Mine says 161Y followed by a triangle.

When the rod is in its fitted position, which way up would the numbers be, if that makes sense? Right way, or upside down?

Cheers,

David

The " 2 " of the " 142 " faces the rear of the car. So the writing is upside down.

Del.

Sorry, just re-read your post.

Mine has " D2 (triangle ) 142 " on the box end.

But it is upside down. ( the writing )

MUCH obliged - I have just finished fitting the new polybushes for my panhard rod, as well as removing the steering box. Awaiting replacement thanks to Durham 4x4, who are kindly going to supply a new one and move the drop arm from the old to the new box for me to save me the aggro of doing it! Then, just a matter of putting it all back together!
