Yet to buy my first Range Rover and now considering either an LPG or a re-chipped diesel. Love Range Rovers but the consumption worries me somewhat? Currently run Peugeot 406 and get around 40 miles/gallon and seems with the diesel Range Rover its about 28 from my reading.

However i hear a rechip improves consumption? If so by how much and roughly how much does it cost to do this

Consumption very important for me as do a daily commute of 120 miles

Are LPG worth the trouble in terms of maintance or best avoid them

Thanks in advance for your replies

get a diesel, chipped remapped or not 28mpg aint gonna break the bank or if its likely to the maintenance costs will kill ya :D

Frankly I'd not buy a Range Rover or other Landrover and worry about consumption. If that's the main thing I'd keep the Peugeot and buy the RR for fun .. just use the pug for commuting, or get something like a Nissan Micra or any other small car as well as the RR.

Pushing a brick through the air will use a lot of fuel, watever you do to it .. ;) The consumption can be improved, but not to anywhere near 40 mpg ...

Thanks guys think will keep the 406 for commuting and get an RR for weekends and long drives

So whats more economical, a diesel one or an lpg converted one. Say you used £100 fuel on each, which gives greater range. Thanks
